DNS Propagation Checker
Verify whether your newly updated DNS records (A, MX, NS, CNAME, TXT) have replicated across global DNS resolvers worldwide in real time.
Understanding Global DNS Propagation & Caching Mechanisms
When you update your website's nameservers, add a new A record, or configure mail exchange (MX) servers, the changes do not immediately appear to every user across the globe. This phenomenon is known as DNS Propagation. Authoritative DNS changes take time to distribute across internet service provider (ISP) recursive resolvers due to DNS caching policies configured via the Time to Live (TTL) parameter.
What Causes DNS Propagation Delays?
1. Time to Live (TTL): Every DNS record has an assigned TTL duration in seconds (e.g. 3600 = 1 hour, 86400 = 24 hours). Resolvers store the query response in their memory until this timer elapses before querying your authoritative nameserver again.
2. ISP Recursive Caching: Some mobile telecom operators and regional ISPs in Bangladesh and internationally ignore short TTL values to save bandwidth, caching records longer than requested.
3. Anycast Nameservers: Faridpur Web Host utilizes enterprise Anycast cloud DNS, routing queries to the geographically closest server node to guarantee lowest query latency and near-instant record propagation worldwide.
